Keynote speakers from VT iDirect Inc. will be discussing how high-throughput satellites , Ka-band frequencies, and advancements in mobile backhaul technology affect the satellite industry during the COMSYS VSAT2012 Conference.
This year’s COMSYS VSAT conference is one of the industry’s anticipated and attended conferences. VSAT2012 will be held at the Lancaster London Hotel in London, UK, and last from September 11 to 14.
iDirect is of the world’s leaders in satellite-based IP communications technology. During COMSYS VSAT2012, iDirect will offer thought leadership and its extensive expertise with the VSAT industry by tackling two major growth opportunities: the recent appearance of high-throughput satellites and the proliferation of small cell technology for the mobile backhaul market.
David Bettinger, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering, will serve as iDirect’s keynote speaker on the developing role of high-throughput satellites and the new, high-capacity Ka-band frequencies. His topic is the importance of flexibility for terrestrial infrastructure, which need to stay compatible with the evolving satellite architecture while also adapting its services for its many different end users.
Meanwhile, Director Richard Deasington (of iDirect’s Market Development) and Malek Shahid from Alcatel Lucent will double-team the subject of mobile backhaul. Their specific topic: How the advancements in small cell technology opened up remote and rural markets – and how mobile operators can take advantage of the need for backhauling and other satellite communications services.
